Assisting You Amid the Canada Post Strike
According to a statement released recently by Canada Post, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) may begin their nationwide strike as early as May 22, leading to a shutdown of Canada Post’s operations and disruptions to mail delivery across Canada. During this time, there will be no pickup or delivery of mail and parcels.
To help minimize this interruption to you and our policyholders, we are implementing the following measures effective Tuesday, May 20:
Policy Document or Information
If you would like to retrieve your policy information or get a copy of your policy, kindly contact your broker.
Claims Payment
We will coordinate with you on how to obtain your claims payments via one of the following ways:
- Pick up at broker’s office.
- Deliver by courier.
- Pick up at Kent & Essex office.
- As agreed upon by communication with our Claims Adjuster.
Accident Benefits Claims – Funds will continue to be sent by EFT where approved.
Proof of Insurance (Pink Slip)
Drivers must carry proof of auto insurance as required by law. If you’ve recently purchased or renewed your insurance, contact your broker to obtain a temporary electronic or scanned pink slip during this time.

Payment Options for Policyholders
As an alternative to mailing cheques to us:
- Internet Banking through a Canadian financial institution.
- Credit Card (VISA/Mastercard) on https://www.kemutual.com
- Cheque payable to Kent & Essex Mutual Insurance can be dropped off to broker’s office to courier to us.
- Drop off at Kent & Essex office.
